Local Bus Services

Connecticut bus services include a variety of local and express routes throughout most major metropolitan areas, plus regional and interregional services between different areas of the state. From Commuter Connection shuttles that meet trains at many New Haven Line stations, to weekday commuter express buses and local bus service operating in many cities seven days a week, there is an extensive array of public transportation choices. Multi-ride tickets and passes are available. The more you ride - the more you save!

Express Bus Services

If you work for a company in the Hartford area, express bus service is a comfortable, hassle-free and affordable way to go. There are 23 different routes in the Greater Hartford area, operated by CTTRANSIT, many serving convenient Park & Ride lots that offer free parking.

Express service operates in peak hours from approximately 6 - 9am and 3 - 7pm weekdays, depending on the route. In addition, a few express routes offer mid-day trips.

There also are several regional and interregional bus services between different areas of the state:

An interstate express connection operating seven days a week between the downtown business districts of Stamford, CT and White Plains, NY.

Coastal Link

An interregional connection providing local bus service seven days a week along Route 1 (Post Road) between Norwalk, Westport, Bridgeport and Milford. Riders can transfer to CTTRANSIT Stamford buses at the Norwalk WHEELS hub (transit center) and to CTTRANSIT New Haven buses at the Westfield Connecticut Post in Milford.

An interregional connection providing weekday local bus service to employment sites along the Route 7 corridor between Norwalk, Wilton and Danbury. Riders can transfer to CTTRANSIT Stamford buses at the Norwalk WHEELS hub (transit center), as well as transfer to Norwalk WHEELS local buses and to the Coastal Link.

Paratransit/ADA Bus Services

Paratransit van services are provided in all areas with local fixed route bus services for people who can't use the local bus system due to their disability. For a list of paratransit/ADA operators, please visit the ConnDOT Paratransit webpage.
