In Northwestern Connecticut there are three bus operators: Housatonic Area Regional Transit (HART), CTTRANSIT and Northwestern Connecticut Transit District. The railroad — The New Haven Line — has a Main Line that runs along the coast and three branch lines which feed into it — the New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury Branch Lines.
