Taking a vanpool to work is a great way to go. It saves time and money and gives you time to relax and enjoy the ride to work. A vanpool is a group of 7 to 15 commuters who meet each day at a pre-arranged location and sharing a ride to work either in a minivan or 15-passenger van. One commuter is designated as the driver and is responsible for collecting fares, reporting and keeping the van operating. Easy Street® is the statewide commuter vanpool service sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Easy Street® currently has more than 300 routes transporting thousands of commuters who live or work in Connecticut to their jobs daily. The fares are economical and based on month-to-month ridership. Full-time and part-time rider benefits include the Guaranteed Ride Program for emergencies. Full-time riders also enjoy fare discounts when taking a vacation or a leave of absence.
